Licensing Renewal and Continuing Education
In Vermont, social worker licenses are renewed biennially. During the two years between renewals, LICSWs need 20 hours of continuing education (CE). An hour and a half must be spent on ethics training, and 15 hours are to be completed in person. The other hours can be completed through distance learning.
LMSWs need 10 hours of CE, with all of them being in a classroom or workshop setting. They must also receive 1 ½ hours of ethics training.
