Social Worker License by Reciprocity or Endorsement

New York does not grant licenses under reciprocity for LMSWs. If you’re an LMSW in another state you will have to meet all of New York’s requirements and show that you’ve passed the master’s exam.

LCSWs who have worked in another jurisdiction for at least 10 years in the past 15 years will qualify for licensure endorsement. Simply complete an Endorsement Application Record and supply the additional documents required to attain the license along with the $294 application and licensing fee.
