Renewals for social work licenses occur every two years. These licenses expire on the final day of the month in which they were issued. Simply fill out the Application for Renewal of Licensure form and mail it to the Board, or complete the renewal online. Renewal fees vary based on the license you hold.
Forty hours of continuing education (CE) are required during the renewal period. LMSWs and LSCSWs must spend six of the CE hours on the assessment and treatment of mental disorders. As part of the forty hours needed, all social workers must complete six on safety awareness training.
