To encourage promising graduate students to pursue crystallographically oriented research.
Applicants must be graduate students enrolled in a graduate degree program with a major interest in crystallography (crystal structure analysis, crystal morphology, modulated structures, correlation of atomic structure with physical properties, systematic classification of crystal structures, phase identification and materials characterization).
Selection is based on the proposal (impact, innovativeness, originality, efficacy of approach, and relationship to crystallography) and the student (recommendation letter, educational track record, prior work and/or research, honors, awards and professional activities).
