To support licensed amateur radio operators who are high school seniors planning to pursue postsecondary education.
Applicant must be an active, licensed amateur radio operator with a valid FCC-issued Technician Class or higher amateur radio license; must be a high school senior planning to attend an accredited college, university, junior college, or trade/technical school in the United States; must be performing at a high academic level or be an at-risk youth with at least two counselor or teacher recommendations as to how and why they have turned their lives around; must demonstrate activity and interest in radio service or some technical proficiency by participating in some form of radio related activities such as emergency communications, equipment construction, community radio services, scouting, etc.
The ARRL Foundation Scholarship Committee will review all applicants and make selections. Preference is given to applicants from San Diego County, California; if no qualified applicant is identified from this county, preference will be given to applicants from California.
