To raise awareness for substance abuse and mental health issues.
1. The Contest is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, who are: (1) at least 18 years of age, and (2) minority students enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university in the United States, and (3) have a minimum 2.50 GPA.
2. Entries must be from individuals only; groups, organizations and multiple-party entries are not eligible. The Contest is governed by United States law and is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
1. *Essay must be submitted with the application, which should include
the authors name, address, phone number, email address, college (including
the date of graduation), and student ID number.*
2. *All entries must be typed, double-spaced, and saved as a Word Doc or
PDF.*
3. *Do not add pictures or graphics*
4. *Essays that do not meet the word count requirement will be
eliminated. (The essay title or added references / footnotes do not
contribute to the total word count.)*
5. *A contestants teacher, counselor, or parent may check the essay for
punctuation, grammar, and/or spelling, but the essay MUST BE the original
work of the student making the submission.*
6. *Contestants will be judged based solely on their essay.*
