Purpose for the scholarship
The purpose of the MUSE Scholarship is to help writing students (journalism, creative writing, public relations, communications, screenwriting, etc.) pay for their first year. Expenses are always toughest in the first year.

Requirements to qualify?
US or Canadian resident or citizen in senior year of high school, enrolled or enrolling in a writing-related program (journalism, creative writing, public relations, communications, screenwriting, etc.).

Selection criteria among applicants
Based on a 400-6000 short story in prose or script (no poetry), including a character based in the applicants program.
