Purpose for the scholarship To assist students who are seeking financial resources to further their college education.
Requirements to qualify? Applicants must be a graduating senior from any high school in the CBCF seven-county service area who has participated in JROTC in high school or intends to join ROTC in college, or current college student participating in college ROTC program or reservist (Army, Air Force, Navy, or Marines) or member of Texas National Guard, or a member of the U.S. Armed Forces (Army, Air Force, Navy, or Marines) who has served at least three years active duty, OR an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces, or the dependent of someone currently on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces who has served at least three years, OR an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces, or high school applicants should be in top one-half of class; must be enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university; must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale, and complete at least 12 credit hours per semester to be eligible for renewal.
Selection criteria among applicants Applicants are evaluated based on academic performance; preference will be given to an applicant residing in a single parent home, where parent is not remarried, and female if all other criteria are met (ROTC/veteran and single parent).
