Purpose for the scholarship
To assist students with financial need from the three counties of Minnesota’s Arrowhead region to attend the area’s largest school, the University of Minnesota Duluth.

Requirements to qualify?
Applicant must be a resident of the DSACF service area (Aitkin, Carlton, Cook, Itasca, Koochiching, Lake or St. Louis in Minnesota or Ashland, Bayfield or Douglas in Wisconsin); must enroll in the University of Minnesota Duluth the following fall; must have significant financial need; must demonstrate having overcome diversity, such as abuse, homelessness, participation in alternative education, language issues, chemical dependence, medical issues, or caregiving responsibilities.

Selection criteria among applicants
Applicants are evaluated based on financial need, academic record, written recommendations, and seriousness of purpose.
