Purpose for the scholarship To assist Hawaiian students in pursuing undergraduate degrees.
Requirements to qualify? Applicants must be residents of Hawaii with a substantial connection to Hawaii; must be full time students at an accredited, two- or four-year institution; must have good academic standing and a minimum 2.0 GPA; must demonstrate good character, including community service, leadership, and civic involvement.
Selection criteria among applicants Preference will be given in the following order: major in Education, Environmental Studies, Healthcare related fields (i.e. medicine, nursing, healthcare administration) or Music; high academic merit, including a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher; class standing as an undergraduate college sophomore or above. And also recipients who were awarded in the immediate prior year, if such recipient continues to meet the eligibility requirements and is in good academic standing
