Purpose for the scholarship
To support students pursuing postsecondary degrees in library science.

Requirements to qualify?
Applicants must be a resident of the Chicago Metropolitan Area (defined as Cook, DuPage, and Will Counties in Illinois) or the Foundation’s service area (Wood, Wirt, Pleasants, Jackson, Ritchie, Roane, Calhoun, Mason, Gilmer, or Doddridge Counties in WV or Washington County, OH); must be pursuing a degree in library science, including programs for library technical assistants or undergraduate or graduate programs in library science.

Selection criteria among applicants
Selection is based on demonstrated scholarship, talent, and potential in pursuing a career as a library professional along with financial need.
