Purpose for the scholarship
To support Ritchie County graduates and residents pursuing postsecondary education.

Requirements to qualify?
Applicant must be a Ritchie County High School graduating senior or previous graduate and current resident of Ritchie County; must be pursuing certification at a technical or vocational school or a two or four-year degree at an accredited college or university; must have a minimum 2.5 GPA.

Selection criteria among applicants
Selection is based on financial need, character, work ethic, and community service. Preference is given to applicants pursuing courses of study related to future work in the oil and gas industry, including but not limited to petroleum engineering, surveying, and geology.
