Purpose for the scholarship
To provide financial assistance to students pursuing a specific field of study and who are most in need.

Requirements to qualify?
Applicants must be students in grades 7 to 12 in Oak Ridge Public Schools who are committed in developing their talents as string instrument players but who, otherwise, would be financially unable to take private string instruction.

Selection criteria among applicants
Based on academic records, test scores, extracurricular activities, work experience, community involvement, recommendations about leadership and character, merit, and financial need.
