Purpose for the scholarship
To provide private lessons with a professional musician or music educator to selected music students who are new to private study (less than 25 hours), live in the 5 county greater Milwaukee area, and whose family is in need of a financial helping hand.

Requirements to qualify?
Applicants must be 4th to a 11th-grade band and orchestra students who have not yet had the opportunity for private study; must be a resident of Milwaukee, Waukesha, Washington, Ozaukee or Racine County; the opportunity for advancement to Year 2 and Year 3 lessons is available only to Year 1 students who earn their private teacher’s recommendation; must be (Parents and students may certainly ask their teacher for that recommendation!) students, parents and recommending teachers need to work together to complete the application.

Selection criteria among applicants
Selection will be based on family has demonstrated financial need (CIVIC MUSIC will determine this from the application).
