Purpose for the scholarship To award a one-time college scholarship to a deserving high school<br /> senior whose body of work both inside and outside the classroom has<br /> demonstrated a special dedication to law-related education with academic<br /> excellence.
Requirements to qualify? – Student must be a high school senior planning to attend an accredited<br /> 4-year college<br /> – Student must have a GPA of 3.5 (or equivalent) or higher<br /> – Student must submit a 500-750 word essay explaining “The Importance of<br /> Law-Related Education in Today’s Society.”<br /> – Student must complete the online application, submit a copy of their<br /> latest transcript, a copy of their college resume, copies of their SAT/ACT<br /> scores and at least 2 letters of recommendation<br /> – Student must be a United States citizen
Selection criteria among applicants – Involvement with high school Mock Trial, We The People, or Model<br /> United Nations competitions<br /> – Local government or community involvement<br /> – Law-related educational projects<br /> – Leadership in school government, law-related or civic minded clubs<br /> – Research papers/videos<br /> – Drafting legislation
