Applicant must be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited institution in the United States on a full-time basis; must demonstrate community service with a focus on the environment and/or animals.

Selection criteria among applicants
Preference given to applicants of Hawaiian ancestry to the extent permitted by law.
