Purpose for the scholarship
To support the children or grandchildren of sea services personnel as they pursue higher education.

Requirements to qualify?
Applicant must be the child or grandchild of a member of the sea services, to include the United States Navy, United States Marine Corps, United States Coast Guard, and U.S.-flag Merchant Marine; must be a high school senior enrolling in any curriculum at an accredited institution of higher education.

Selection criteria among applicants
Preference is given to applicants who have demonstrated an interest in and an intention to continue their education in mathematics, engineering, and/or the sciences.
