Purpose for the scholarship
To enable scholars to spend an uninterrupted block of time doing research in the AAS library.

Requirements to qualify?
Applicants must have completed their formal professional training; may be foreign nationals who have been residents in the United States for at least three years immediately preceding the application deadline. Applicants must have received a PhD within the last 3 years.

Selection criteria among applicants
Recipients are selected based on: scholarly qualifications, significance or importance of the project; appropriateness of the proposed study to the AAS collections.
