Purpose for the scholarship
To encourage and reward students majoring in the field of human nutrition, dietetics, foods, nutrition, or food systems management or admitted or enrolled in a dietetic internship who have demonstrated ability and potential in the field of dietetics and nutrition by aiding them financially.

Requirements to qualify?
Applicants must be a junior or senior majoring in the field of human nutrition, dietetics, foods, nutrition, or food systems management or admitted or enrolled in a dietetic internship; must be a legal resident of one of the following counties: Houston, Geneva, Covington, Coffee, Dale, Henry, Pike, or Barbour; or must have been employed or volunteered in a healthcare facility in one of the stated counties; or must be the child or grandchild of an active or former member of the SE Alabama Dietetic Association; and must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above on a 4.0 scale, and a 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale in major courses of study.

Selection criteria among applicants
Selection is based on the scholarship; potential in the field of dietetics and nutrition ascertained by, for example, leadership in activities within and outside the school, professional interest, honors, activities, and work or volunteer experience; financial need; letters of recommendation; and letter of application.
