Purpose for the scholarship To increase the quality and availability of early care and learning teachers who plan to work with young children.
Requirements to qualify? Applicant must be a graduating high school senior seeking an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field, including early childhood special education, child and family studies, child care administration, child development, child psychology, family studies, and human services (must include early childhood concentration in the major); must be enrolling at least three-quarter time in an accredited college approved for federal Title IV funding; must have a minimum 2.75 GPA on a 4.0 scale; must demonstrate financial need, school or community involvement and/or service, and a strong work/education ethic; must intend to work in Vermont for a minimum of two years after college.
