Purpose for the scholarship To increase the quality and availability of early care and learning teachers who plan to work with young children in infant/toddler and prekindergarten programs.
Requirements to qualify? Applicant must be a current college student pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field, including early childhood special education, child and family studies, childcare administration, child development, child psychology, family studies, and human services; must be a member of the Vermont Association for the Education of Young Children; must have a minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale; must attend an accredited school located within Vermont that is approved for federal Title IV funding; must demonstrate financial need, school or community involvement and/or service, and a strong education/work ethic; must intend to work in Vermont for a minimum of two years after graduation.
