Purpose for the scholarship
To encourage research and scholarship in black theatre and to expose the beauty and complexity of the inherited theatre work of our African American ancestors, as well as, preserve and develop Black Theatre’s unique art form.

Requirements to qualify?
Applicants must be college/university undergraduates or graduates working on a paper concerned with an aspect of the Black Theatre in either the United States or throughout the world.

Selection criteria among applicants
Selection will be based on the criteria of the panel of judges.
