Purpose for the scholarship
At OppLoans, we put a strong focus on customer service and ensuring that our customers develop at least basic financial literacy while working with us. We believe it is never too early to learn financial skills, especially as college students deal with student loans and debt, and increasingly as they graduate and enter the workplace. This scholarship’s purpose is to encourage financial literacy in college students, while giving them a helping hand with the various expenses they incur.

Requirements to qualify?
Current or incoming full time student at any college or university in the US.

Selection criteria among applicants
Essay contest answering the question “In 750 words or fewer, please explain why financial literacy should be important to college students like yourself.” Entries will be judged based on their originality, thoughtfulness, structure, insight and basic grammar and spelling, as that shows concentration and dedication to making a good essay.
