Purpose for the scholarship
To assist the member states with their domestic efforts in pursuit of integral development goals by supporting human resource development in the priority areas; to promote and support human capacity development and the strengthening of bonds among peoples in the hemisphere by maximizing the number of scholarships awarded in reputable educational institutions in its member states with the resources available.

Requirements to qualify?
Applicants must be enrolled in a program of study and be eligible to graduate within 2 academic years from the date of the award, or be accepted into the university for the last two years of the undergraduate degree (admission letter must state that the applicant will complete the program of studies within 2 academic years); must be enrolled in a master’s or doctorate degree program.

Selection criteria among applicants
Recipients are selected based on financial need.
