The journey toward becoming a social worker is similar to the journey after you have already become a social worker. The act of providing the best service, affecting social justice, giving dignity, fostering integrity, creating competence, and encouraging scientific inquiry is an act that requires continual maintenance and study. The world and the problems we face are not constant; and therefore, our approach toward helping people and our communities must adjust and evolve with new knowledge and the new problems we face.
Great social workers are, and will always be, in great demand. The work may be demanding in any area you wish to pursue, but it can also be highly rewarding in ways that you know you’re making a positive difference in your community and the world at large.
