This level of licensure is also non-clinical, like the RBSW license. LMSWs can engage in delivering more advanced services such as:
LMSWs must earn a Masters in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited school or university.

A fingerprint-based criminal background check is required for all social work applicants. You can schedule an appointment on the Fieldprint Oregon site. The results may take up to 3-5 weeks to come back, so it’s important to start the process as soon as you are eligible. The Board cannot move forward with processing your application until they have the background check records. Review the instructions online before registering.
LMSW applicants need to pass the ASWB Master’s exam once the Board approves their application. The test will assess your social work knowledge at a master’s level. The ASWB will send your scores to the Board for you.
The other testing requirement is for the Oregon Statutes and Administrative Rules exam. The test is open book and can be printed out and mailed to the Board. You’ll receive your scores in the mail after the exam is graded.
An application for licensure must be submitted to the Board along with your official MSW transcript and a $200 application fee. The fee includes the cost of the background check. After completing the above steps, the Board will review your application packet and issue the LMSW license so you can practice non-clinical social work in Oregon.
