To encourage and reward students majoring in the field of human nutrition, dietetics, foods, nutrition, or food systems management or admitted or enrolled in a dietetic internship who have demonstrated ability and potential in the field of dietetics and nutrition by aiding them financially.
Applicants must be junior or senior undergraduate students, graduate students, or dietetic interns majoring in the field of human nutrition, dietetics, foods, nutrition, or food systems management or admitted or enrolled in a dietetic internship; must be legal residents of the following counties: Jefferson, Cullman, Walker, Bibb, Chilton, Shelby, Talladega, St. Clair and/ or an active member in the Birmingham District Dietetic Association and student members of the American Dietetic Association; must have cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above in major courses of study.
Selection is based on the scholarship; potential in the field of dietetics and nutrition ascertained by, for example: leadership in activities within and outside school, professional interest, honors, activities, and work or volunteer experience; financial need; letters of recommendation; and letter of application.
