To provide financial assistance to the needs of the members for their professional growth.
Applicants must be entering or currently enrolled in an ALA-accredited program of graduate study specializing in children librarianship; must be legal residents of Indiana; must accept employment in an Indiana library within one year after completing their library education; and must continue to work in an Indiana library for at least one year after accepting employment. If recipients are unable to comply with these conditions, scholarship must be repaid as a loan.
Recipients are selected based on interest in librarianship as a profession; personality and character; academic record; economic need; and references and/or a personal interview.
